CineMagic is a performing arts program for students in 3rd through 8th grade that builds self-confidence while providing standards-based instruction in singing, dancing and acting. It exposes children to the performing arts -- theater traditions and music styles, such as jazz -- that they might not otherwise be able to experience. The program culminates in a spring performance on a large stage.
CineMagic is unique in many ways, including:
-
It is a performing arts program that allows all students to participate regardless of skill
-
It uncovers and develops talent while teaching important performing arts instructional standards
-
It can support a cast of more than 200
-
It has an extremely high level of parent involvement
The first CineMagic performance was in 2002. It was meant as a one-time activity but it uncovered a huge need for such a program and it is now offered annually.
