Innovation Grants
Pleasant Valley Education Foundation temporarily suspended the Innovation Grants program for the 2009-2010 school year. In these tough economic times, when school budgets have been cut to the bone, PVEF felt that a competitive grant process would not be appropriate.
Instead, PVEF gave a direct grant of $10,000 to the Pleasant Valley School District to establish its "Music Wheel" pilot program, incorporating vital music and arts education directly into the school curriculum where all children can benefit, instead of as an after-school program.
PVEF also gave direct gifts of ELMO cameras and projectors to each of Camarillo's 14 public K-8 schools, spending approximately $25,000 for these important technology enhancements.
Information on the resumption of the Innovation Grants program will be available at the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year.
